Tested over millions of cycles, our standard range of double-acting, lightweight hydraulic cylinders is designed for operating pressures up to 380 bar. We also offer custom actuator and accumulator designs, with working pressures up to 700 bar available to order.

From cherry pickers to satellites, cutting the weight to be lifted frees up productive capacity. Hydraulic cylinders made from lightweight composite materials deliver weight savings of up to 60%, while accumulators with composite shells can lead to savings of up to 75% – savings which translate directly into reduced energy consumption and increased productivity.

  • Lower energy consumption  

A single refuse truck can use up to 10,000 gallons of fuel per year. Lightweight composite accumulators are a key part of Parker’s RunWise energy recovery system, which typically reduces fuel consumption by between 35% and 50%. The direct annual savings across a fleet are easily calculated; less obvious but very bit as important, the savings in emissions are a significant contribution to a greener future.

A reduction in weight permits faster acceleration, higher speeds and more rapid deceleration. Less energy is expended driving the process, while less is lost as heat. Maintenance intervals are extended while fatigue failure and wear are reduced.

Parker’s Lightraulics® cylinders and accumulators combine composite tubes and bodies with corrosion resistant, aircraft-grade aluminium alloy heads and caps, ensuring that systems continue to function optimally in even the harshest environments.

The application of Lightraulics® composite technology to construction site equipment such as tool cylinders transforms the way in which loads are managed on-site. A steel jacking cylinder which would need lifting equipment to move, can safely be positioned by a single operative when made from composite materials and light alloys.
