Kaarst/Hanover, 24. April 2017 – Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, will be exhibiting its new TDC series proportional throttle valve at this year’s Hanover Trade Fair. Thanks to faster response times and a main stage with LVDT, the actively operated 2-way proportional throttle valve, which is designed for controlling high flows, meets the dynamics and precision requirements that have arisen in many markets.
With the TDC series, Parker has added a very versatile, complete valve to its portfolio. The device consists of a single-solenoid proportional DC valve with integrated electronics as a pilot valve as well as a main stage with a poppet and LVDT. The new TDC valves are positioned between the proportional throttle valves of the TDA series and the highly dynamic TDP 2-way servo proportional valves with patented VCD® drive technology. When released on the market, these solid cartridge valves will be available in four nominal sizes: NG25, NG32, NG40, NG50 – this will determine the maximum flows they can handle between 700 and 4,000 litres per minute. These new proportional throttle valves also impress with their step response time of between 20 and 31 milliseconds with a positional accuracy of less than 0.7 percent of the nominal value.
Due to these performance characteristics and either a progressive or linear flow characteristic, Parker’s TDC is suited to widely varying, challenging applications. For example, the device can be used in plastic injection moulding machines or in press controls. In addition, the high-resolution, electronic positioning sensor ensures a high level of precision and optimised process accuracy for the main stage. Thanks to the digital built-in electronics, the valve parameters can be easily adapted to match different applications and the data can be retrieved. Parker’s free parametrization software, ProPxD, which can be downloaded from www.parker.com/propxd can be used to easily set the value parameters.
