Richland, Michigan, January 22, 2010 – Parker Hannifin Corporation, the leader in new technology for embedded piezoelectric solutions for fluid power and electromechanical applications, unveiled today its latest Advanced Technology Actuator device which utilizes the VIVA Piezoelectric technology.
Parker’s patented ViVa technology is based on a novel compliant device that offers greater displacement with enhanced force output, ideal for use in serial bus and battery powered applications. Additionally, the actuator’s performance attributes enable the technology to replace less efficient electric motors with a simple direct drive device.
"We knew there would be interest in a robust, economical piezoelectric solution for fluidic valve applications, but the feedback we've received from designers has exceeded our expectations," said Rich McDonnell, Parker’s Product Manager. "We're looking forward to choosing several beta applications from among many interested parties who wish to have early access to the technology for use in their equipment and devices."
