Parker presents bus door actuation solutions using electrohydraulic and electropneumatic technologies

Cleveland, OH  - October 6, 2014  -- Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, will demonstrate two types of door actuation at the APTA Expo October 13-15 in Houston, Texas.

The modular electrohydraulic actuator (EHA) is a game changing energy efficient solution that uses proven technologies to provide fine control, position sensing and load holding capability. The innovative design optimizes resource consumption and eliminates the dependency on compressed air for door actuation therefore extending vehicle compressor life. The EHA is suitable for high-life cycle and extreme temperature applications down to -40 degrees F. It features simple pin-to-pin installation and electrical connections.

The integrated electropneumatic actuator assembly showcases the technology of P1D cylinders and  Viking Xtreme valves, which will also be on display. The durable and rugged design incorporates built-in integrated obstruction detection, which provides increased sensitivity during door closing over standard sensitive edges and delivers pinch point detection in all areas of motion. Commission labor is reduced up to 60 percent and the system is easily retrofitted to existing low floor slide guide door systems. The customized solution can be used in severe weather conditions (-40˚ F/C) and exceeds 1 million cycle life expectancy. Parker’s solution offers enhanced flexibility for a variety of modular door systems and provides a user friendly global actuator/valve platform design.
